Induction melting/casting furnace

This vacuum tilting machine uses direct induction to rapidly heat the melting charge under protective gas or vacuum, ensuring uniform mixing through a magnetic field. The liquid metal is then poured into a preheated flask or mould by tilting the inductor housing and mould chamber simultaneously.

Arc melting/casting furnace

 

Model: Indutherm Arcast200

This is designed to melt, alloy, and cast up to 200 grams of steel or equivalent metals, with a free-fall atomization option. Operating at over 3400℃, it features a small footprint, low running costs, and can be installed without a 3-phase power supply, making it ideal for exploring advanced alloys like titanium, memory alloys, and high entropy alloys.

Model: Stanat (Refurbished by IRM)

The Stanat TA-315 5″ x 8″ Rolling Mill is a robust and versatile rolling mill designed for precision metal forming. Equipped with a 15 HP AC gearmotor and variable speed AC inverter, it offers efficient, smooth operation. Its rolls, with a diameter of 1.5 inches and hardness of 60-62 Rockwell C, ensure accurate material shaping. Featuring easy-to-use hand-wheel adjustments for precise roll gap control, this machine is ideal for demanding applications. With a compact footprint of 96″ L x 36″ W x 72″ H and a weight of approximately 6,000 lbs, it’s built for both reliability and precision in industrial environments.

Box furnace

This furnace features unique insulation, long-life heating elements, and specialized construction, making it ideal for demanding laboratory applications. Available in various chamber sizes, it can reach temperatures up to 1200°C.

Tube Furnace

 

Model: GSL-1700X-UL

This versatile bench-top tube furnace, ideal for material and chemical research, features MoSi2 heating elements for a maximum temperature of 1700°C and a high-purity alumina refractory chamber. A programmable digital controller ensures precise temperature control, making it suitable for heat treatment under vacuum or controlled gas conditions.

Wire EDM

 

Model: ArrowEDM DS-2

This is a high-precision CNC wire EDM system designed for complex machining, offering +/- 0.0002″ accuracy and supporting workpieces up to 200 lbs and 6″ thick. It accommodates wire diameters from 0.004″ to 0.014″ and features advanced CNC controls, including XY circular interpolation. The machine’s 40-gallon dielectric fluid system with 3-micron filtration ensures fine surface finishes and high-accuracy cutting.

Auto Polisher

 

Model: Buehler EcoMet 30 Twin

This machine is compatible with 10in platens and is ideal for medium-volume processes. This robust unit is easy to use and produces high surface quality, making it suitable for labs where machines are assigned to dedicated steps in the preparation process. Quickly move samples from machine to machine as they go from rough grind to final polish without swapping working surfaces. 

Hot mounting press

 

Model: Buehler SimpliMet 4000

This user-friendly hot mounting machine is designed for rapid cycle times and high-quality mounts from 1 to 1.5 inches (25 to 50 mm). Its Duplex spacer allows for two mounts per cycle and features like SmartCool and efficient heating/cooling elements minimize cooling time. The compact design, intuitive controls, and real-time feedback make it ideal for high-volume environments.

Electrolytic polisher and etcher

Electrolytic polishing and etching offers faster, more reproducible results compared to traditional mechanical specimen preparation, making it ideal for difficult-to-polish samples. It includes a power source, polishing cell, and etching cell, with dimensions of 13.13 in (333 mm) W x 18.5 in (470 mm) D x 9 in (229 mm) H.

In situ tensile stage

This stage is a high-precision thermo-mechanical instrument designed for in-situ and ex-situ material analysis and qualification. With advanced capabilities like force, displacement, speed, deformation, temperature, and temperature gradient control, it is ideal for various material testing applications. Configurable for EBSD analysis, the MT1000 also features non-contact deformation measurement and monitoring, ensuring precise results. High-temperature BSE detector

This features a single crystal sensor, scintillator/PMT technology for superior image quality, and an excellent signal-to-noise ratio. It supports HV, LV, and ESEM operations, handles sample temperatures over 1000°C, and has an unlimited sensor lifespan. With a motorized retraction mechanism, bellows-sealed high vacuum system, and precise alignment, it offers a compact design with a 150 mm retraction range and a customizable SEM connection.
